i am not listening to your rules.
so, the title or video has nothing to do with my days. but, it's pretty hilarious and we can't stop quoting it, so i thought i would just share. haha
the past two days we've been working on our own construction training, as well as finalizing our theme for the summer. thursday, we learned all about installing a porch, which was such an awesome lesson. we learned all of the technical side of things, and it was cool to see all of the calculations and specifications. then, we were able to go on some house visits for referrals, which was also a lot of fun. the house we went to had the cutest little boy, dj, and christina and i just became distracted and played with him the whole time. haha
then, the rest of the day, we continued on with hashing out our theme. we've been kind of going through a lot of struggles with it, going around in a lot of circles, but i think we're finally being led in the right direction.
today, we learned about plumbing and flooring. woo! but, i feel like i'll be able to do a lot of handy work from now on, which is really fun!
we also finally got to exactly what we wanted to work on for our theme, and i'm so excited for it. i've been assigned to the group setting up community night, the night where we teach the youth more about the town their working in as well as poverty across the globe, and i've been able to implement a lot of the games and activities i've participated in at peacejam, so it's cool to see how they can apply in so many different areas. we've been working on the activities for that night, and also talking about God's will for poverty and what we're supposed to do about that. i'm not going to go into it more right now, but i'm definitely going to look more into it and blog more about it later, because it's such an interesting and thought provoking topic.
i'm getting a little tired, so this might be a bit scattered. but, things are still incredible and i don't want our group to split up at all!
:)
